Dr. Khattak obtained his medical degree from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at The Hospital for Sick Children. He subsequently completed a clinical year in Emergency Services and Neonatal Intensive Care, followed by a fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. He has served on Scientific Advisory Boards as well as Speakers Bureau for several major pharmaceutical companies, and has authored several award winning scientific articles and abstracts in peer review journals.
Dr. Khattak is a Board-Certified Pediatrician in Canada. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Academy of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Canadian Society of Clinical Pharmacology.
He evaluates and manages a variety of behavioural or developmental concerns amongst children, adolescents and adults.
Christine has been with The Kids Clinic since 2004, and has gained experience in all areas of the clinics operations. She is a qualified medical report transcriptionist and writer. In addition to management duties she has been trained in administering various psychometric tests and assisting the physicians with their examinations and assessments. She possesses a full understanding of all our services and strives to ensure all patients receive the best care possible.
Ashley has earned her Masters of Science in Education and is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers. She also holds a Bachelor of Science with majors in Psychology and Crime and Deviance from the University of Toronto, and certification in Autism and Behavioural Science from Seneca College. Her skills and experience includes teaching; program development, coordination and management; consultation with parents and schools; and conducting educational assessments. Ashley believes that all children deserve the opportunity to flourish and grow as individuals.
Deepti attended the University of Toronto where she studied Health Studies and Psychology. She went on to complete her MD abroad at Spartan Health Sciences University, School of Medicine. She completed her training in St. Lucia and Chicago, Illinois. She has experience working in various specialties, including family medicine, general pediatrics, and dermatology. Deepti is passionate about child health and education. She has worked with special needs students for the Durham District School Board as well as at the University of Toronto. She has also taught 1st grade art for the Toronto District School Board. When she is not working at the Kids Clinic, she enjoys volunteering at the Hospital for Sick Children.
Alexia completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in research from Wilfrid Laurier University. Alexia has many years of experience working and volunteering with children of all ages and abilities. Her experience includes cognitive interviewing, research, camp management and psychometric testing. Alexia has always had an interest in mental health and child development and enjoys being able to share her skills and experience at the Kids Clinic.
Parveen is a York University graduate in Psychology, a certified Psychometrist and completed postgraduate diploma in Psychometric Assessments at Yorkville University. She previously worked for two psychological assessment publishers and has participated in the research and development of an Intelligence Scale (WISC-V) French version and has extensive experience in Emotional Intelligence. Being bilingual has given her a chance to assist in translations of standardized assessments. She has experience with various test batteries for adults and children. Parveen has a passion for assessments and believes in helping others by identifying areas that can be improved.
Dr. Shah has over 30 years of experience in Family and Integrative Medicine. After obtaining his Medical (MBBS, MCPS) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) degrees from the University of Karachi, he practiced at Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD).
He joined Kids Clinic in 2009 and has been integral in conducting patientassessment, counseling and management of children and adolescents, focusing in the areas of behavioral and developmental disorders. He has been actively involved in clinical research and has participated in major successful audits by FDA and Health Canada.
Dr. Shah helped establish a center in Pakistan in 2015, offering the same range of services as Kids Clinic, after which he has returned to rejoin our current team in Canada.
